PIT Count 2020
The Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana is coordinating the PIT Count for Southern Indiana for the second year in a row. Due to the large number of volunteers in the organization's White Flag program, significant number of community partners, and ability to build consensus, the Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana is charged with coordinating the count.
The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is an annual count of those experiencing homelessness, sheltered and unsheltered, done throughout the US. For 2020, Indiana has selected Thursday, January 23rd, as the day of the PIT Count. This count impacts our region's ability to get funds to address homeless and housing issues.
Southern Indiana needs volunteers to help us do the count again this year. With more volunteers, we anticipate better data that reflects the true picture of homelessness in the region. You can help Southern Indiana increase its access to funding to address housing issues by volunteering as little as 3 hours.
Southern Indiana is considered Region 13, which represents eight counties-Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Orange, Scott, and Washington. This year, we want to make sure that EVERYONE COUNTS.
